Dr Kevin Wright

Consultant Clinical Psychologist

I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, and I am a Chartered Member and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. I have extensive experience of working within both NHS and independent services. Since qualifying as a clinical psychologist, my career has been dedicated to working with adult, learning disability and forensic services, addressing complex and enduring developmental, emotional and mental health difficulties across the life span.

I regularly assess and intervene with complex clinical case presentations and a wide range of risk behaviours. Essentially, this includes a focus on recovery, discharge and relapse prevention. The work involves preparing reports for a range of audiences, including CPA and Mental Health Tribunals. I am part of the senior leadership team and offer advice and consultation to senior colleagues within the forensic care group. I have generated a wealth of experience providing teaching, training, supervision, advice and consultation to multi-disciplinary professionals, local authority services, other NHS and private organisations advising on the psychological, social and behavioural needs of vulnerable adults, within the criminal justice system, or at risk of entering it and I have extensive experience of attending and contributing to CTR’s for those individuals.

I write expert witness reports for criminal courts. I have completed training with Bond Solon in criminal law and procedure. I am a member of the Expert Witness Institute and have competed their core training.
